30 women
This seems appropriate for Mother's Day. :)
What’s in my bag
OK, so I totally flaked out on the 28 to Make project. Now it's been 3 months. So much for creating a habit. I miss sketching and painting. I've made a mess of the kitchen table lately. Thinking if I keep all the art supplies out and just shove them over when the family needs to eat, I will paint more. Maybe. I have a whole studio I could be using. I should make a mess out there.
28 to Make / Day 3 » Draw your favorite album art
Picked this for the sweet memories. Memories of playing this CD in Hannah Mae's Hello Kitty boom box outside her door at bedtime. Just a baby. Lullabies to sleep. Tonight, open house for middle school. A ten year old now. I still love these songs.

28 to Make / Day 2 » Draw a houseplant
Or a plant at Dubsea if you don't have any houseplants.
28 to Make / Day 1 » Draw your beverage
Discovered 28 to Make from Creative Live. Hopefully I can keep this up for 28 days. Been out of the habit. You can also follow me here.
Education in South Sudan
I keep coming back to the stories and photos found in this piece, South Sudan's Tattered Dreams. {Photo reference—Jon Warren, World Vision}
Refugee camp :: Dahuk, Iraq
No way to put into words what I feel when looking at photos from refugee camps. Children's names. Their stories. Their memories. Fears. Hopes.
Here's just a quick sketch I did using a photo as reference. Syrian refugees living in Dahuk, Iraq.
Birthday {with Mickey Mouse}
Quick assignment today:
Custom birthday card for a friend to give to his wife. Must have today — illustrate, design, print. Reference — Instagram photo of wife and daughter (sweet). Insert Mickey Mouse ears hats — taking a trip to Disleyland for birthday. Pen and watercolors — a welcome break from the computer. Lime green and blue — a welcome break from WV orange. :)
